The History

HISTORY OF YARRA BEND GOLF

Built in 1936, Yarra Bend Golf Course is rich in heritage and widely recognised as one of Melbourne’s premier golf destinations.

The original course design was influenced by Vern Morcom, who is responsible for many of Australia’s best course layouts. Vern worked intimately with perhaps the greatest golf course architect of all, Alistair Mackenzie, who designed Augusta National and Australia’s best golf course Royal Melbourne.

In recent years, expert design team Ogilvy Clayton Cocking Mead have restored the course layout and provided a strategic plan for exciting course upgrades in the future..

Yarra Bend Golf acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional Aboriginal custodians of country throughout Australia, their culture and Elders past, present and future.
